words on the phone

text messaging has been a hot topic over the last couple weeks. the topic began at "the roebling tea room", of course, when some friends and i noticed three people sitting together and all of them had their t-mobile sidekicks out. sara* then mentioned that she liked the full qwerty keyboard and that, if she could, she would get a "text only" cellphone plan. it then continued into this past weekend while talking with my dad about my phone use. he pays for a family plan so he gets the bill. he mentioned to me that i sent and received 99 text messages last month. i knew i used the feature often but never thought that frequently. now the news has picked up on the hottest way to communicate, all the kids are doing it. here is an article from the washington post. it merely covers the popularity of text-messaging and waxes slightly poetic about, the short messages can be compared to haiku, but it certifies that most everyone is having text.

Seriously. Stop playing kissy-face and showing off your iTunes collection.
